WELCOME TO THE AIS LIBRARY WIKI!

This is a place to share your thoughts on books you have read-or would like to read. In other words, I hope this will be like your very own on-line book club! This is a spot to "meet" and discuss books with other people who like to read (or not!) and enjoy those great books. Please feel free to participate and comment on any book you've read. If you can't remember the name of a book you wanted to read, but you remember what it's about, ask here, and maybe someone will be able to give you that title. Heard of a book, but want an opinion of someone who's read it? Ask here!  Start reading and let's hear from you!

Please tell us about something you read while we were out of school for Hurricane Ike.

I read a book called Whispers of the Bayou by Mindy Starnes Clark. It's about a lady in New York who finds out she has a mysterious secret past including such things as a twin sister she didn't know about, that she is guardian of a secret hidden treasure, her mother's death was no accident, and there are people who want the treasure and don't want her to tell what she may remember about that night so long ago. I really enjoyed this one!

Please tell us about your favorite book, comic and magazine.

My fovorite book is run away . It about a girl trys to run away from home becase her step mother blames her for stelling money and her spepdad made her sleep in the basement with just one blanket. On her way she faces many obstucules but in the end she finds a new family and help her throw her tuff times in her life.

Well Harry Potter may not be for everybody, but the books are very good. I would encourage you to read further into the series. As Harry gets older there are more dangers, and at the end of the road there is the most perilous secret. This series is a LOT like the Chronicles of Narnia. Please do not give up on these books.

Dang nobody has commented on this page for like forever. Well then I guess it's my turn.
I just read a book called Nobody's Princess. It's about Helen of Sparta before she becomes
Helen of Troy. I think it's a really neat book. The author is Esther Friesner. The second one
is Nobody's Prize and I'm waiting to read that one,so I'll tell ya'll what it's about when I read it!

You're right. People haven't been commenting. Nobody's Princess sounds like a good book I'd enjoy reading too. We don't have it in the library right now, but maybe some day!

Hey, I'm right there with you girl!! I LOVE Greek Mythology. Ever since I've read the Percy Jackson series I've tried to get my hands on any mythical book I can get!
Since the AIS Library doesn't have it you could check out the Brazoria County Library by ECC. That's where I got my copy. Or if you dont have time to go look for it,
you could loook online and request it. They'll contact you when they get it.In the book Helen is a bit spoiled, but her sister doesn't help matters either. Check it out for yourself.
Just thought I'd let you know, but there's a movie about Helen of Sparta(Helen of Troy) called Troy. I haven't seen it yet but it looks pretty good. I think it's PG-13.
Anyway just thought I'd let you know. :)(:

Hey I've got some news!!! I just finished the Host by Stephenie Meyer and absolutely LOVED it! I recommend this to everybody who likes science fiction/fantasy books. People who don't like Science Fiction that much but like the Twilight series also by Stephenie Meyer should read this. It's a little bit different from the Stephenie Meyer you're used to, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. :) I also want to tell you about a book called Heist by Ally Carter. I think Ally Carter is an amazing author, she's also the author of the widely popular Gallagher Girls series. This book is not so different from her other books but still interesting. All I will say is that it's about stealing some secret crown jewels... I'll let you check it out! Also speaking of the Gallagher Girls series, Ally has almost finished the FOURTH installment in the Gallagher Girls series. I encourage everybody to read the first three books in the series. "I"d Tell You I Love You but then I'd Have to Kill You", " Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy", and " Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover." Keep checking back in for more updates!!
